This morning the lads travelled to Kearsley to play Boothstown Wasps a tough, physical opponent who have shown tremendous form towards the latter end of the season.

A poor start was punished within the first minute with a scrappy effort tapped in on the line after some uncharacteristic sluggish defending.

The lads bounced back immediately creating a couple of half chances before Alex restored parity with a trademark neat finish. Another goal quickly followed this time from midfield dynamo Connor who blasted into the corner following another lung busting forward run.

Confidence continued to grow with Jack down the left starting to assert himself into the game with the ever willing support play from Alex and Joe. Jack beat the defender before cutting infield and drilling across goal for the industrious Joe to finish via a deflection.

Complacency set in a touch and we conceded a soft goal when given several chances to clear our lines going into the break 3-2 up

The marvels came out firing and scored a deserved 4th through Jack who tucked away following nice work from Ethan ending his mini goal scoring drought. An excellently taken finish from Alex gave the lads breathing room before conceding another avoidable goal this time from a corner when the ball was running out for a goal kick.

From this point on the game was controlled and spent in the opposition half, a defence well marshalled by James and Riley dealt with any loose balls and it was attack versus defence. A quick fire double from Jack completed his hat trick the second a lovely left footed strike into the top corner…followed by a late and deserved Ethan finish completed the scoring.
