The U13 Avengers commenced their Pre-season with a friendly against Bolton Lads and Girls club down at Hesketh meadow this morning finishing up 1-3 to the Scorpions.
This was the first game back for the lads against a quality side who have continued to play throughout the summer and could see a bit of difference between the two teams.
The game started off fairly even with both sides well matched against each other, BLGC looked dangerous down the right with a pacy winger causing left back Zac plenty of problems but Dec was covering well from LCB and snuffing out the threat.
Avengers took the lead with a quick counter attack started by Rylan with a great ball from deep in his own half ending up at the feet of Dill Sill who was through 1v1 with the keeper and slotted well in to the far left bottom corner.
Scorpions from Division A continued to play some lovely football, moving the ball around really well and tiring the avengers out, the scorpions equalised starting from an avengers throw picking the ball up and attacking quick and slotting past Charlie.
BLGC soon took the lead with a long range free kick struck well and Charlie palmed the ball down but the defence were caught napping and nobody followed in to clear up and an easy tap in followed, this was quickly followed by a 3rd from BLGC with a mix up in defence leading to another goal.
2nd half the Avengers looked to play more football on the ground and looked much better for it creating several chances, Harvey was through 1 on 1 but drilled it over the bar.
Chances were few and far between but the home side continued to search for a break through, again harvey found himself in down the left and struck the ball well only to see the keeper tip it around the post.
Harvey MOTM relentless running all game and unlucky not to score 1 or 2.
